A Call To Worship (From Pleasant Valley Suite)
This slow adagio movement from Pleasant Valley Suite is appropriate for solemn occasions. With it’s “Appalachia” style statement of the melody, to a chorale in the brass and a soaring orchestral theme, it has been used many times by the Rochester Philharmonic on 4th of July concerts after our musical tribute to veterans as a piece to be played during a time of personal reflection by the audience. It has also been used on an All-County orchestra programs.
